“You are doctor now?” Rozanov asked, and Shane stayed silent.

Im still not sure if I like these interview ones. This is good, I liked it. There were some of those little thins that I dont like about them, but mostly I loved how this had been executed. So one of the best so far for me.

Just in general, Im still undecided about them. Thats just a me problem, no one elses. Ill just have to find more good ones to change my opinion.

Ilya Rozanov knew his English wasn't the best. As one of his ways to improve it, he started reading stories that fans wrote about hockey players on the internet. After meeting Shane Hollander, he decided to try writing some of these stories. To improve his English, of course. 

Or, Rozanov journaled all of his interactions with Hollander in English and posted them as fanfics online.

I have really bad headcanons about fanfiction now. I kinda want to Shane to find these and then comment to all of them. The comments can go from "seriously?!?!?" to lovely "for fuck sake" and the angsty ones could have something like "Im sorry" and ofc the one with I love yous has to have something like "I love you too". Ilya will answer to them with just pure emojis, 🥰😘😇. Everyone can then find them and have a mental breakdown over all that. Ofc all this has to happen before the whole FanMail incident. Yup.

But in all  seriousness. I love how fun this was to read. In general I love how fun some of  these fics are and how Im smiling and laughing reading them. Mostly Im used to those angsty fics where I spent most of the fics crying. And finding funny, lovely Hollanov fics is just the best part of my day now.

There is also a sequel to this, but I havent gotten that far yet. Only used a whole day to read this and get really hooked. Like. This gave me so good book vibes, like this could be an actual published book. Which is so weird. But a good thing, because I have been searching MM romance books with football players in them recently (and let me tell you, I have yet to find a single one that I actually like).

Anyways. There is actually a lot going on here for Louis and he is just trying to survive to the next day. I loved how some small things didnt get any conclusion until the end and how well those things hold there. This didnt let me down at any point in the story, which is a huge thing for me.

 The only thing Im gonna say is I really got hooked on Ilya's thought pattern. It got distracted and then he found the plot again but then something else happened. He is lost and then saving angel comes. Yeah.

This is a part of a series and the other parts are equally good and maybe you should read them in order. It matters a little. It just makes everything better really, doesnt really matter on the plot side, but like yeah. It makes better reading experience.

Anyways. Why I am blogging just about this one and not the others? Because this is what fanfiction is all about. It is sandbox you can play all your hearts out. You can do whatever you want, you can make anything to be new reality and it can make as much sense as you want. Seriously.

Level 1 bonds, at their core, are practical things. They are incredibly clinical, especially in the MLH. Injected with grade A suppressants to keep the bond controlled, exchanging scents as briefly as was manageable, a quick barely-there shallow bite to the gland on the omega's neck, paperwork filed with the league office after a full day of observations, and suddenly an omega is considered 'safe' to play professional hockey. The omega, now bonded, is considered less likely to 'disrupt team dynamics,' whatever that means. 

Shane had been nineteen when Montreal assigned him to Gilbert Comeau. 

OR: omegas are only allowed to play professional hockey if they enter into a contracted bond with an alpha on their team. Shane's alpha in Montreal is more than lackluster, but what can he expect? Though, maybe a little forewarning would have been nice, because Comeau suddenly wants him gone, and Shane soon finds himself being traded to what could be the worst possible outcome: Boston. 

In a way I love this universe, I love the differences, how it works and how everyone is living in it. But at the same time I fucking hate it, how shitty Shane's life is and how just fucking awful it is. Those two can exist at the same time.

Also, my biggest fear here was that this was gonna end too soon. And it ended too soon. I would love to read how this continues and how their bond forms. But I get it, I get how perfect this ending was. It showed everything you needed, gave you change to dream about their happily ever after. 

But the thing. The thing with Shane and how Montreal had fucked over him. You could see it, hear it, taste it, feel it. Whatever. It was there, it showed at every point and was just perfectly there. Just. I love everything about it. 

This fandom has destroyed my hate for abo fics. Seriously.

I love all these headcanons that there are. Raiders supporting Hollanov, Cliff being the bestest best and whatnot. At this point I dont even remember what makes every fic so special. Maybe all the headcanons and playing with everything. Just. Every single thing.

or: Ilya has been asked to fix up the Hollander house over summer. Shane Hollander, the elusive son of the family, returns to town after thirteen years to watch over said house. The next six weeks are going to be incredibly interesting. 

Why oneshots are now days 30 000 words long? Like yeah, Ill still read it, but like seriously. Why?

This could have been way, way more angsty, but wasn't. And I liked how easy, light, romantic this was. Just some nice, good reading for lazy Sunday (I know, I know Im posting this on monday but I scheduled this to future). 

The only thing I missed was more Shane's parents and their scheming. Or is it just Yuna's scheming? Anyways. I love how in every fic they care about Shane, his happiness and his life. If there is one thing that makes me cry every single time, its their never ending love and how they show it to Shane. Maybe its overbearing in times and I would hate it sometimes if it was my parents. But. I can still appreciate it and love it in every single fics. And then they show it to Ilya too, which just makes everything so much better. 

One best part here was also Ilya's depression and how it was mentioned. It was there, it was part of everything, but it didnt take over. I really liked that. It is, after all, a really big part of Ilya.

Mental health matters and all that.

I loved the prequel? The one from Shane's POV? The other one. And I went into this thinking this would break me, destroy me and I would spend the whole fic crying. But this was not as hearbreaking as I first thought. Which is probably a good thing for my mental health.

To be honest, my favorite part of this was Ilya's backgroud. His growing up, his suicidal thoughts, his way of surviving. Everything that made him who he is. All those reasons how he ended up to Montrea, ended up to the hockey team and made all those friends. I also loved how Ilya reads Shane in here and tries to understand him, not always being correct but thats mostly down him not uderstanding his own worth. 

Just. This is as good as the prequel, maybe some parts were even better. Still solid and just good.

I came across the sequel to this and was really surprised I hadnt blogged about it yet. Then I realised I havent blogged about this either. I have read this like back in January when I had this weird obsession with soulmate fics. But some reason I couldnt find this here.

So. Here we go. The sequel is it has a language of its own  

Anyways. I love the idea of understanding each others languages. I also love how there could be problems with it and making the whole learning part difficult. One thing I would like to know what happens when they learn more languages and what consist as native language (I know a guy who is fluent in five languages because he moved his whole childhood and there is not one single language that he could say he is native in, sooo yea).

Other than that. This is just two idiots not realizing whats in front of them. Yep. Just lovely every day fic in other words. Just really, really, really good and I have read this twice already.

Of course, Ilya was going to sleep with her tonight. She was gorgeous, perfect, and he didn't have to sneak her around the hotel. Why wouldn't he sleep with her? Because of Shane? They didn't mean anything to each other. They were . . . friends, maybe. Roommates, definitely. Even if Rozanov was respectful enough to not bring anyone home while Shane was there, there was nothing stopping him from sleeping with other people while he had his own room on the road.

I was just going over fics that I wanted to download to Kobo and then found this. My only thought was that this is short, wont take long, doesnt matter if its shitty or anything else. But shit. I liked this. 

This is literally nothing super special. But this kinda makes sense and I liked how fucked up Shane was and how fast. I dont know. Even if its a little bit OOC but like, if Metros have gotten rid of him, that must eat some of his selfesteem so there is that.

I like how there is still some Shane panic and also how Ilya is still somewhat lying to himself. For a change this felt just so in character and that was refreshing. Yea.

I feel like I should figure out who is GEEK and why everyone credits them. But. Like. Im probably too lazy to get that deep into this fandom. And maybe Im too old to go that deep. Idk.

Anyways. This is part of a bigger series and its not 100% mandatory for you to read all the other parts of that series for this to make sense. Some little details may sound weird but this is fine as a stand alone. 

It kinda also feels like people seem to forget about how these guys are like 18 or 19 or 20. So really young and still figuring the shit out. So it makes sense for them to have a frat house and being totally clueless about a lot of things. Also. There was this one hockey player who played Fortnite (I think?) like a lot while being a professional NHL player. It even affected his gameplay for some degree and when he finally stopped or maybe just wasnt gaming so much he started to be a better hockey player. Or something like that. Ugh. Now I have to google the guy. Shit. Patrick Laine! Yep. It was some British football player who even needed professional help for gaming, but thats completly different story. And please, do not ask how I have this useless information in my head.

Anyways. Back to the fic. Sometimes people forget that players are also young guys who are filthy rich and they are on their own. And all of that could just mean utter chaos. Some of that chaos is also understanding how much rich people can be separeted from the real world and everyday things.

So this is another thing I need to get lost to and read a lot more fics about. Seriously. Fuck life. Who needs a life anyway?

No one is able to not ship these two. Yeah. Fics like these just make me more impatient to wait for the Unrivalred book, like we need to know how the rest of the world reacts and what kind of shitstorm there is. And they need to win the Stanley Cup for Centaurs, yep. So much to wait for.

In the mean time we just have to enjoy all these awseome fics and try to be patient. Yea. Half of that is easy and half is torture. Fuck.
