"You're supposed to smoke over there." Someone said from behind Ilya. 

Ilya almost dropped his cigarette. His English was shitty, but he had studied that sentence enough times over the years to understand it immediately. He didn't even think about his words much anymore, but it was impossible to avoid them. 

He turned instinctively, and was face to face with Shane fucking Hollander. 

Out of almost seven billion people, of course Ilya's soulmate had to be his fated rival. It was almost poetic. Still, Ilya had enough sense to realize just how bad this was. 

or, Shane says Ilya's soulmate words. Ilya vows to never speak a word to him to keep him from finding out. They fall in love anyway. 

I don't usually read the authors comments in fics. Part of its because I really cant be arsed and part of me is just way too lazy. But thank god I did here. It gave me a whole new perspective on things and made me appreciate the fic even more (like it even needed that). It just made me think how it is really good to go outside your comfort zone and really try different things, they could really surprise you and everyone around you.

This surprised me and kept me hooked. At this point I can say I have read all the books and I am really up to date with everything. Kinda. Or maybe I am too deep. Pick your poison.

I liked how this followed the book but gave it its own twist. And then I just kept waiting for Ilya finally crack and say something to Shane. And maybe I spent a little bit too much time wondering why Shane doesn't question more why Ilya doesn't talk to him. And maybe the ending made me fall in love even more.

I kinda want to add something about how sad Ilyas life, childhood was here. But I don't really have the words to that. Lets just cry for him and let him enjoy the perfect life he will have with Shane. 

So maybe the thing is that this feels perfect. Maybe. Something along the lines at least. And I am just sad that there are only limited amount of fics about them. But hopefully that will change and fast. There has been a raise in fics but we will see how it goes.
