Athelstan comes to Kattegat University for his freshman year and ends up with his dorm supervisor and his world religions TA as his best friends. He might be doing college wrong.

The whole part how you can play with these characters is pretty awesome. I don't really think that I have even read any fic with the story being in the Viking era. No, wait. There was one about Ivan and that priest warrior whose name I really can't pronounce. But besides that. Yea. I am stuck with the modern day variations and I am actually really happy about that.

But in here all that playing with characters and how they come up there. How Floki is a professor and how Ragnar and Lagertha are these sneaky fuckers who just somehow communicate too well for Athelstan to keep up. And of course how Athelstan is just so innocent. I just can't get over Athelstan's innocence in these fics. It just fits him too well.

One other thing I liked was everyone's backstory. They had one, it was acknowledged but there was no need to go there too deeply. Like it was just there and everyone understood that without too much hassle. I like that. I also like how they can talk about things and make each other understood without going through so much drama.

Maybe there is something else for me to say but I can't really think anything else right now. I just hope everyone else will like this as much as I did. Yup. You are welcome.

Usually he sits alone in a quiet unoccupied carriage, but now there's always a family sitting nearby and they're all very interested in him, particularly the gorgeous tattooed parents. This threesome is interesting in so many ways. The problem with that is that I have no idea how to explain it or how to process it. So instead I just to try to take it all in and somehow understand it through all that. And maybe it is working? And maybe not.

But the thing here is that for some reason they are all so in the character but still there is some kind of fresh side to everything. Not everything is explained and it is from Athelstan's point of view but those are the things I really like. I kind of really want to understand Athelstan and his choices because that is where the stories come and how they get the ending. Ragnar and Lagertha are just these two awesome people who do whatever they want to do.

Yea. Maybe I am really getting it. But, just in case, I am just going to keep reading these and maybe someday I have a vision that I can share with you. Hopefully.

Also. Kudos for making Björn and Gyda cats. Just an awesome detail guys. Just awesome. Yep.

Random Fandom Week 8 [Vikings]

I had no idea what to expect when I started this week. And I am kinda surprised, awed, freaking out here because of this. First of all, the only reason I even started to watch the show is that there was nothing else on HBO and mom wanted to try this (one of the reasons were the Finnish actors Peter Franz and Jasper Pääkkönen). So. We kinda stayed up the whole night and watched the first season. Yea. Not the smartest thing you could do but whatever.

So. After seeing all the 5 seasons (that has been done so far) I wanted to try the fics. Okay. This happened on a night when I was bored out of my mind and just wanted to see what people had come up this time. And this whole thing? This is more than I could have ever thought. Seriously.

But these fics. I have no idea what I have done to myself. I am kinda hooked to the whole threesome thingy and I haven’t even tried any other kind of fics yet. I want to read something about Ragnar’s sons but I need to get over this whole threesome thing first. So yea. I kinda fell in love. Kinda. Maybe. These are just so weird and awesome and nothing I could have ever expected. Yep. Also. Definitely, the best part of these fics is the non-existing drama. They are adults who can actually talk and discuss their problems and don't go creating more because they are idiots. Or that is the feeling I have gotten so far.

To be honest, I tried to avoid this one first. I didn't really want to read anything long and I kinda wanted a soft start that would be over quickly in the case that I didn't like the fics. But why to do that when the fics are amazing and the characters are just pure awesomeness? So this happened. And I liked their lives and how the kids were there with them through all of that.

Even after reading this I am not sure what to think of it. I like this idea where their lives are put to the modern day. Like how it all could go if they lived today. Also lots of other things. Athelstan's thoughts and life in there are also really interesting. And something else. But yea. I want you to make your own opinion about this.


Casting Couch by Farasha

Athelstan, down on his luck, kicked out of seminary school, and trying to face homelessness with dignity, gets picked up at a bar by Ragnar Lothbrok, principle adult film star at his wife's studio. Ragnar leaves Athelstan with his card and a choice - try to survive in Los Angeles with no income and no place to live, or give Lost Brook Studios a try.

This fic is entirely the fault of Travis "I can't keep my hands off George Blagden for five minutes" Fimmel, most specifically in this interview.

And the porn part of the list. Yup. Pretty much nothing else except a lot of talking and thinking. But then porn and lots of it. Be happy.

The +1 part of this list is actually the first fic I ever read in this fandom. The fic is also the reason why I stuck with this threeway.

A young man, dressed in glittery clothes that are really inappropriate for the cool weather they're having, stops and looks between Athelstan and the shopfront briefly.

"You judging or just shy, sugar?" he asks.

Athelstan blinks and says, "I just realized that I'm dating a married couple today."

Or, in which Athelstan doesn't really understand what's going on, but he's surprisingly okay with that.

There is probably nothing in this oneshot that I do not like. Like literally nothing. It is just pure perfectness. Seriously.
