Arthur came into the nursery to look for some plants to liven up the house he had inherited. He had expected to look at some grass, leave, and then buy plants at a local store instead. What he hadn’t expected was a garden that made him feel like he entered a magical land, with a quaint run-down house and a clever green-thumbed owner. 

To be honest. I don't remembe anything abut this fic. Literally nothing. But it was on my to do list here, so it has to be worth to read. So. You can fill the rest and tell me what I liked about it three years ago.

Merlin sighs. "After your...announcement," he explains, "your father decided he needed a bit more information. Which is apparently where I come in. I'm sort of like his gay tutor, it's hard to explain." 

I don't like Uther. But who does? That is basically the norm in every single fic and the norm in this fandom. But after this, I kinda like him. Okay. He is still he asshole in everything but I can kinda like him now too, sometimes at least. So pretty much never.

Anyways. The whole Uther part in here was awesome with Merlin just dealing with him. The whole mentality of not caring what Uther thinks and how nothing can be real about the whole situation, that was the best part. Merlin was so sassy and just so Merlin. 

I also liked the Morgana part here, where she was welcoming Merlin into their family and just being the queen of everything at the same time.

The only thing I didn't like that much was Arthur. Not because he was bad or something. More like he was so boring. Kind of. I may have hoped that he had been gay all along and just got tired of being in closet (or maybe he just wanted a reaction of his dad or something stupid like that). But this way, it sounded kind of boring when comparing to the rest of the fic. This is not bad thing, just I was expecting so much more from him and yea.

Okay. In the beginning I kind of hoped that Arthur and Merlin were already together but Uther just didn't know that and the whole gay mentor thingy was just happy accident. Or something along the lines. But this way, this was just better. Seriously.

So go and a have a laugh while reading this. ♥

Merlin Emrys had strong convictions on the subjects of love and marriage—namely, that they should be avoided at all costs.

To be honest, I really, really wanted to title this as "Idiots in Love". I really, really did. I still want. Because its so fucking true.

This is all about Merlin and Arthur being nemesis. And then getting drunk together and shit starts to happen. What I liked about the nemesis part was how it actually was logical, they were tied with the cases they won (I always hate those lawyer stories wher one lawyer always wins and is perfect etc etc.) and sometimes they lost. They didn't take it like it was the end of the world, they just take it as next time I will do better -way. Which is awesome.

Also I liked how magic was there in the sidelines. Somehow made this more Merlin fic and more perfect. Okay. I am kind of disappointed that there wans't more of magic but we can't always have what we want so I can manage with this.

But yea. The cliche part here is that everything could have been solved if they would just talk. Like seriously. So it is full of unnesessary drama. But thats nothing new and this whole thing wouldn't work if they were actually functional human beings who talked.

During the celebrations for his grandson’s sixth birthday, Uther Pendragon was stabbed by his grandson for murdering his papa. 

This is going to sound so bad, but at some point of the fic I really wanted to Merlin to stay dead. I really did. I wanted to read how Arthur slowly started to get over Merlin's death and how Yvain would become the best version of Arthur because  his father is dead. To be honest, if there is a fic out there where Merlin dies and it's literally all about Arthur trying to survie, please comment the url and I will read it.

Anyways. I liked to read the story in Uther's point of view. Nt often anything is written in Uther in mind. Mostly he is just this big villain in the background and somehow he just exist and thats it. So. All those Uther parts were pretty refreshing (even when I don't really like Uther that much, but who cares).

I just didn't understand how Uther could be so blind to things happening around him. He didn't know that Yvain called Merlin dad or what Merlin really was to Arthur. I can kind of understand how he has blind spots for things that he does not want to know but it still sounds/feels weird that Yvain wouldn't call Merlin papa at any point when Uther could hear him. Like Yvain is Uther's grandchild and the story makes it sound like they do spent some time together and hang out. But maybe it has to do something with Uther being distant father and so he is also a distant grandfather. Maybe. Or something like that. 

And okay. The story would not work if Uther actually was aware of everything and especially awere of how much Merlin means to everyone. This whole thing just couldn't work.

The other thing was how Merlin didn't just magically survive. His resurection was this whole bigger picture and him being part of something bigger. It made sense for the whole cosmic plan for Arthur to become the greatest king Albion has ever had (or some other bullshit like that).

So basically there wasn't that many things that I didn't like. Which is weird. At least I can't think of anything right now. Weird. Super weird.

When Uther makes Arthur captain of his ship in his absence, he leaves him with a single warning: don't give Merlin anything he asks for, no matter what it is. 

Pirate fics are always the best. Even when there is not that much piracy itself.. This is more about Arthur finding himself and searching for answers. But the point stays. Pirates make everything better. Everything.

The other thing that makes this better, is folklore. All those spirits and mermaids etc. Okay. There are not mermaids or mermen. But the folklore and spirits and stuff like that are there somewhere. So, that just makes the fic even better.

But the thing is. I have started to love Gwaine. I just like him. He is always on Merlin's side and is always the best friend Merlin could hope for. And he is always taking Merlin's side over Arthur's. Which I love. I just love it. Even in here Gwaine is just such a lovely fellow. I can't wait to get further in the show where Gwaine comes to the picture. But to be honest, that will take at least another six months. So it will take awhile.

But. Back to the point! This is all about Arthur finding himself and his purpose. And maybe him giving Merlin his life back. And in the end, they are just happy in their own lives that they have build for themselves. Yep. 

And. Don't forget. There are pirates in there. Seriosly. Never forget.

My geeky heart is in love. Just so in love. I don't even know whats the best part of this fic. Maybe the conversation they have? Wait. It has to be the online conversations. Seriously. Just have to.

Okay. I didn't have high hopes for this (tbh when do I ever?) but I was bored and I have pretty much scrolled through most of Merlin fics at this point (don't worry, I have a huge list of fics that I want to blog about). And my train of thought was pretty much "sounds different, is not that long, why the fuck no". And here we are, in love and I want to read this again.

I am not going to lie and say that there are things you can't guess and everything is awesomely written. There are some things that really bother me. But because this is fic and this is about people hanging out via internet we can let those little things slide. So bear in mind all that.

Besides the point. I love how these two interact. Like they just can read each other and understand each other. I like that in the show too. I also liked how the whole magic thing was replaced by the whole hacker thing. It made sense and it was pretty awesome. Also. Every mentioning of WoW and becoming super geek about it is always a huge plus for me. I love that game.

The only thing I didn't really get was the ending. Maybe I wanted something else or maybe it came too soon or something. I just want to read more of this. I really, really do. This was that good. But good fic is always a good fic, even with not so perfect ending. And the ending doesn't suck, more like I just wanted more for the ending. Or something along the lines. 

So, please. Go and read this. Send the author all the love you can via kudos and comments. And just go and read it. Please. This is totally worth it. ❤️
