In A Mirror, Darkly [Supernatural, Destiel, Nc-17]

In A Mirror, Darkly by anyrei & mugglerock
“Do you trust me, Dean?”

“You know I do,” Dean answered, his voice carrying resignation and sadness. He knew Cas was right. This was the only way if he wanted to help save his brother. He had to do it, even though everything in him wanted to fight it. But he trusted Cas with his life. And now he was going to show him just how deep that trust ran.

Dean fell to his knees in front of the angel, bowing his head forward as he was fitted with the extraordinarily heavy collar. Castiel’s fingers caressed his skin when he closed the clasp of the sign of slavery; the symbol that gave Dean’s life over to the angel’s mercy. Dean suppressed the urge to close his eyes.

We know good people go to Heaven and bad people go to Hell, but where do the medium people go? Welcome to Limbo, a fourth plane of existence, ruled by angels and built upon the servitude of the humans enslaved to them.

While on a routine salt n’ burn, the Winchester boys encounter a garrison of angels. Sam ends up being taken to Limbo; leaving it up to his brother, Dean, and the angel, Castiel to infiltrate the plane in order to rescue him.
In my head I am calling this a monster fic. For a couple of reasons. But mostly just because this is almost 200 000 words long and that has been put just into 20 chapters. Yea. Thats the bigest reason. The second reason is how this is about monsters and how they are living in the afterlife (okey, this is something I really don't get in the Supernatural, like people die and they become demons or go to heaven or something else, then they die again and go to Purgatory but they still can die there, so where do they do go from there? To heaven? Hell? Back to Earth? Back to Purgatory? Seriously. This has been bugging me awhile now).

So this one is possibly place for people to go after they die. And then there are angels just being cruel fuckers like the people from the time when they enslaved other people. Those angels are somehow different just so they wouldn't get out of there but then again some other angles would love to move to this place. Yea. And the humans think that after they have been there long enough they will end up to heaven. Thats the Limbo in the nutshell.

The plot on the other hand is 90% pining. Dean being sad fucker because he thinks Cas doesn't really love him. Then Cas does the same. Then they make up and talk a little bit but after a while they are back to the pining thing. Plus all that fucking all the time. Seriously guys.

The rest of the plot is dark and twisted. There are politics, revolution, abuse, slavery, fighting pits, brainwashing, conditioning and so on. There is everything that fits under the label dark. And then some more. And all that just because they are trying to find Sam which is not as easy as they thought it would be. Everything just gets back to Sam missing and how they are there just to save Sam. Which is actually good point, other vice I think I would have forgotten Sam completly. The all back and forward drama and all the issues these two have. So reminders of Sam come handy.

What else? No idea. Just maybe this is worth it. I am not sure at the moment. I kinda don't want to finish this (four or something chapters left) but at the same time I really can't leave this unfinished. Because Sam and I want to know how they go on their lives after Limbo. Probably I also want to know how there can be that happy ending (and how happy that is gonna be). But still, this is not bad, this is not shitty, this is not crappy. This is very well written, no grammar mistakes (at least I haven't found), no typo errors, no stupid plot holes, no stupid mistakes with stupid shit. This is good. And dark. So maybe this is worht it. I am leaving you to decide that. Yup.
