After a night of celebrating (heavy drinking) with his brother surgical intern Dean Winchester discovers that his resident, talented Cardio surgeon Castiel Novak, is...well a huge douche bag...kind of hot but still a huge douche bag. A douche bag that he's stuck with for the rest of the year, that's if he survives the year without Castiel killing him and making it look like an accident. So why is it that an easy friendship forms between the two men that swiftly becomes something Dean never expected to find when he moved to Chicago. In the beginning, I got all this Grey's Anatomy vibes from this. But thank god that wasn't true. Wouldn't have liked to read that mashup. Seriously. There is nothing wrong with the mashup idea but I just can't read anything that has Grey's Anatomy's plot in it. I have watched all the episodes way too many times and I almost know it by heart, so it would kinda be a little bit too boring for me. So yea. No Grey's Anatomy mashups for me.
But the fic itself was good. I liked the characters and how they fit into this world (I even liked John as a trauma surgeon). Even Michael fit as Deans ex and all that. Just good.
Even the whole world. How it felt accurate and right. All the background info the writer was able to put there and it even seemed legit like all the time. I really don't know anything about medicine or how hospitals work but it still felt good and all the effort was shown there. Yup.
The only downside were all the typos. There was a lot of typos in there, some letters missing, sometimes wrong letters in wrong places, words that made zero sense etc. The whole thing was so well written and the plot was amazing. Just the typos. Okey. I was able to get past all that because everything else was just so amazing and perfect.
Even the ending. I really liked it for multiply reasons. One of them was how they got the fresh start and how all the stigma from their relationship was not a problem anymore. It was just good. Really good.
So yea. Read it. Totally worth it. Thank you.
