I don't like Uther. But who does? That is basically the norm in every single fic and the norm in this fandom. But after this, I kinda like him. Okay. He is still he asshole in everything but I can kinda like him now too, sometimes at least. So pretty much never.

Anyways. The whole Uther part in here was awesome with Merlin just dealing with him. The whole mentality of not caring what Uther thinks and how nothing can be real about the whole situation, that was the best part. Merlin was so sassy and just so Merlin. 

I also liked the Morgana part here, where she was welcoming Merlin into their family and just being the queen of everything at the same time.

The only thing I didn't like that much was Arthur. Not because he was bad or something. More like he was so boring. Kind of. I may have hoped that he had been gay all along and just got tired of being in closet (or maybe he just wanted a reaction of his dad or something stupid like that). But this way, it sounded kind of boring when comparing to the rest of the fic. This is not bad thing, just I was expecting so much more from him and yea.

Okay. In the beginning I kind of hoped that Arthur and Merlin were already together but Uther just didn't know that and the whole gay mentor thingy was just happy accident. Or something along the lines. But this way, this was just better. Seriously.

So go and a have a laugh while reading this. ♥

Chris decides the absolute best way to get Jim to behave is to classically condition him using candy. Because. Um. That's perfectly normal and acceptable right?

This goes to that category where Kirk has so many problems and maybe those problems have their own problems too. But this time, it is not Kirk who is trying to overcome them. This time it Pike who is just trying to understand the problems and how he could help Kirk overcoming them. And then he finds some new problems. But there is a happy ending! That is very important part too.

The sad part is how people are still harrassing others who are slitghly different to others. And then the people who are suppose to be responsible adults are just not understnding whats going on and punishing the bullied kid. The scary part is how someone can go almost 30 years before anyone even notices that maybe Kirk is on the spectrum. 

But you have to love Pike for understanding and helping Kirk. And love his weird way of doing things. Yeaaa. Pike is weird, but so is everyone else to be honest. And his ways got the result so I think it doesn't even matter how he did it, as long as Kirk and everyone else is happy. Yay.

Oky. I had a point what I want to write about this. I really did. But right now, I can't remember it. So we have to go with these way too short and simple praises for this awesome fic. Yup.

Dean refused to look up his soulmate. His parents ran into each other by chance. Karen stopped by Bobby’s garage after her car unexpectedly broke down. Sam got seated next to Eileen on a plane, and he spent two hours miming conversation before she admitted she read lips.

Was it stupid for Dean to hold out for a story like that? Probably.

But he doesn’t regret his decision - not until Castiel Novak wanders into his tattoo parlor, asking about a cover up for his soulmark. 

This is another awesome fic where they actually think about the whole soulmate business. Like, they don't just automatically get their happily ever afters if they are soulmates. Their lives can fall apart and they can become stranges to each other. The most important part is that they have to do the work for the relationship to work and nurish and actually survive.

So basically this is not some fairytale soulmate fic where everyone is just super happy and have their happily ever after. Okay. Maybe some of them do. But the point was that the happily ever after is not given.

The other important part here is that if you are in any asexual spectrum it is okay. There is one aromantic person and she doesn't have a soulmate. And she is fine with that. And thats the norm. She doesn't want a soulmate, she wants to live her life without a lifepartner and is not "forced" to have a soulmate to share it with. Seriously. This is the kind of thinking I love.

Also. They dip into the thing where your soulmate's soulmatetattoo doesn't change even if you change your name. I am not so sure what to think about this, but I kind of like it. The whole thing has this one big question that I would love to have an answer for. Like, lets say you get abandoned as a baby. Your mother/father leaves you at the firestation without a name (so they can't be trased). Basically you kind of have to have a name at that point but then you need a name to live with. So which name is going to be on your soulmate's arm? And how can you be sure that the other is your soulmate if they have the name your bioparents' gave you but even you don't know that name?

I maybe should mention that they have name tattoos in this one. Where your soulmates name is tattood on your arm. Yea. Probably this info should be somewhere in the beginning but I can't be arsed to edit that much of the text.

Anyways. Why can't more soulmate fics be like this? I know this kind of world is getting more popular but still. I would love to read more soulmate fics where there is the possibility of you just being such a jackass that the relationship just doesn't work. So please. I had way too much fun while reading this. I can so see this happening, like seriously. All those misunderstandings and how Dean is way too blind to see how people may not keep up with him. Ah. Pure gold.

Even the whole universe is awesome. With no one dead and them actually finding happily ever after. I have been looking for fics like this for the past week or so just so I could read about Dean and Cas being dads and Jack being their kid. Like. Who wouldn't like them to be all domestic and so happy and in love. Thats the dream (and way better than the actual ending, lets just pretend it never happened).

Also. I was kind of waiting for this to end with Dean and Cas not being together but just pining for each other. And maybe the coworkers helping them to get together.

Okay. To be honest, I hoped that there would have been more Dean/Eliot fics. For some reason, this fandom has not gotten that deep into Deans' super bi identity and missed most of the oportunities. And one of them is the whole Elliot thing. Like. Who wouldn't tap their celebrity crush? Seriously.

The other thing is the whole dark Dean being a serial killer. Can I just say that I find that hot somehow? Like super super super bad Dean. No idea why. But it sounds good. I may have to dig deeper to find more fics on dark Dean.

 Also. If you get really, really disturbed about Sam/Dean thingy, even when its just mentioned like it is a possibility and not an actual thing, I can't really recommend this. But it is in the sidelines and no one confirms it like 100% so I can't really say that it is actually there. But still. I feel like I have to mention that one bit.

 Other than that. Go enjoy this weirly awesome wet dream fic. Hah.

To be honest, I really, really wanted to title this as "Idiots in Love". I really, really did. I still want. Because its so fucking true.

This is all about Merlin and Arthur being nemesis. And then getting drunk together and shit starts to happen. What I liked about the nemesis part was how it actually was logical, they were tied with the cases they won (I always hate those lawyer stories wher one lawyer always wins and is perfect etc etc.) and sometimes they lost. They didn't take it like it was the end of the world, they just take it as next time I will do better -way. Which is awesome.

Also I liked how magic was there in the sidelines. Somehow made this more Merlin fic and more perfect. Okay. I am kind of disappointed that there wans't more of magic but we can't always have what we want so I can manage with this.

But yea. The cliche part here is that everything could have been solved if they would just talk. Like seriously. So it is full of unnesessary drama. But thats nothing new and this whole thing wouldn't work if they were actually functional human beings who talked.

This is going to sound so bad, but at some point of the fic I really wanted to Merlin to stay dead. I really did. I wanted to read how Arthur slowly started to get over Merlin's death and how Yvain would become the best version of Arthur because  his father is dead. To be honest, if there is a fic out there where Merlin dies and it's literally all about Arthur trying to survie, please comment the url and I will read it.

Anyways. I liked to read the story in Uther's point of view. Nt often anything is written in Uther in mind. Mostly he is just this big villain in the background and somehow he just exist and thats it. So. All those Uther parts were pretty refreshing (even when I don't really like Uther that much, but who cares).

I just didn't understand how Uther could be so blind to things happening around him. He didn't know that Yvain called Merlin dad or what Merlin really was to Arthur. I can kind of understand how he has blind spots for things that he does not want to know but it still sounds/feels weird that Yvain wouldn't call Merlin papa at any point when Uther could hear him. Like Yvain is Uther's grandchild and the story makes it sound like they do spent some time together and hang out. But maybe it has to do something with Uther being distant father and so he is also a distant grandfather. Maybe. Or something like that. 

And okay. The story would not work if Uther actually was aware of everything and especially awere of how much Merlin means to everyone. This whole thing just couldn't work.

The other thing was how Merlin didn't just magically survive. His resurection was this whole bigger picture and him being part of something bigger. It made sense for the whole cosmic plan for Arthur to become the greatest king Albion has ever had (or some other bullshit like that).

So basically there wasn't that many things that I didn't like. Which is weird. At least I can't think of anything right now. Weird. Super weird.

Pirate fics are always the best. Even when there is not that much piracy itself.. This is more about Arthur finding himself and searching for answers. But the point stays. Pirates make everything better. Everything.

The other thing that makes this better, is folklore. All those spirits and mermaids etc. Okay. There are not mermaids or mermen. But the folklore and spirits and stuff like that are there somewhere. So, that just makes the fic even better.

But the thing is. I have started to love Gwaine. I just like him. He is always on Merlin's side and is always the best friend Merlin could hope for. And he is always taking Merlin's side over Arthur's. Which I love. I just love it. Even in here Gwaine is just such a lovely fellow. I can't wait to get further in the show where Gwaine comes to the picture. But to be honest, that will take at least another six months. So it will take awhile.

But. Back to the point! This is all about Arthur finding himself and his purpose. And maybe him giving Merlin his life back. And in the end, they are just happy in their own lives that they have build for themselves. Yep. 

And. Don't forget. There are pirates in there. Seriosly. Never forget.

Did I spoil the plot? Probably. But to be honest, the summary did that for me already so there wasn't that much to spoil. Probably. 

Anyways. This is way too long to be a oneshot but almost all One Direction oneshots are like that, so that is not new. Also. This is pretty good and worth of your time. So go and get lost in this magical world of Larry becoming a thing. Yeaaaa. All you need is Larry.

When Natasha and Steve show up on Tony's doorstep, it turns out one little piece about their intel is completely wrong. Tony's married, sure. Just not to Pepper. 

At this point, I don't even believe that I will finish this fic anytime soon. I have lost count of how many times I have started to read this and always something came up and I forgot I was reading this. And then, some time later, I open this again because I have completly forgotten that I started this ages ago.

The thing is, this is not even a bad fic. This is pretty good. Even the idea is good and the writing style is good. I just cant finish reading this. I just cant. Someone could explain to me why but yea.

In the mean time I can just love how they actually put some effort and thought behind the whole "we will bring all these people back to this planet, no matter how we can't actually feed them or give them work or anything else". Like. In witch fucking world is it even possible to just double the whole population overnight and everything will just be fine? Like. Just no. The world doesn't work like that.

So maybe some super smart person could say that I have too high expectations for this fic and when it just doesn't reach high enough, I lose intrest and give up. Maybe. But I don't believe in that theory. I like to think it is just my laziness and the world interfering with my reading. Yea. Sounds way better already.

In the month following M’s death at Skyfall, things inside MI6’s Q branch never seemed to get back on the right track. For the last two weeks, missions had started to show cracks. Nothing major at first, but little things all the same. All involved in Q branch’s intel. Or bugs in the tech that got sent out with the agents. The problem with that was, all of those individual incidents led back to one man... Q. 

 I would love to read fics about Q going rogue or how he is the enemy. I am not sure how the plot would go or what the fic would contain because I don't like the idea of Q becoming new Silva. Just nope.

Anyways. This is pretty good second option for that head canon. Q is treated as if he is the bad guy and he just tries to survive. Kinda. But with a twist. Or maybe just Q being the huge nerd that he is and doing things that no one really can follow. Kind of. Maybe.

This fic is pretty mellow and sad and depressed enough for me to fall in love. Bond made sense with how he got used by everyone and Q made sense because fuck the life he had. And somehow it all just made sense for them to get away and start their life over. Kinda. Or maybe not.

To be honest. I kind of waited more rebel Q and more actions and something else. But this may even be better than what I wanted or expected. This was just.... depressed where life just keeps going even when you are not actually noticing it going forward. So super depressing. 

Can I just stick with one word and be done with this? Yea. I can do that. So. Byyeee.

Tony Stark was a billionare with no morals and the Avengers were no match for him. Only Loki came close to beating him. He was a brilliant profiler and because of his wit, Tony always enjoy bantering with him.

Can I get just super hot and bothered for the idea that Tony and Loki become a pair of villains? Like. That's one big wet dream of mine. So what does that mean with this fic? This fic is everything I love in this pairing. Them outsmarting everyone else (no one can say smart isn't sexy) and them being a team against everyone else.

The last thing Tony remembers is dying atop the Stark Industry’s building after Pepper blew up the arc reactor. The next thing he knows is, that he’s back with the Ten Rings in the cave. And – it all is suspiciously familiar. 

First of all. This fic is a monster. And when I say monster I mean that this has almost 200k words. Almost. The second important thing is, there is a lot of repetitiveness in there. Like a lot. Tony does things over and over and over and over again. And I am not gonna lie, I skipped a lot when reading this. Still. Doesn't make it bad, it just makes me impatient and lazy.

So basically this fic is about Tony reliving about six months or so of his life over and over and over and over again while trying to figure out what could stop the time loop.

The thing I want to talk about is the ending. I didn't see any of that coming. Okay. The plot was pretty good with the whole not revealing the ending and not really giving anything away with what is actually affecting the time loop. But still, I really liked the whole idea behind the reason and how it actually was logical (most of the time it's just meaningless shit that is tied to someone falling in love with someone else, fuck that shit). That makes the ending just that much better. It also makes the fic seem like there was so much thinking behind everything and a big plan how it all would unfold.

Another important and meaningful thing is how Tony coped with all this. I liked how he was all good and then sometimes he was really depressed and didn't really care about anything anymore. Things lose their meaning when you know that nothing will matter in the end because tomorrow you will have to do it all over again. But some things stuck and how they affected everything else (for example how Tony dealt with showers and water). I liked that, it made the whole thing better and like everything was thought out. I don't think anything in this fic was random or just written because it popped into the author's mind at that moment.

The thing I just don't get. How anyone can have the patience to write this? They basically had to write things over and over and over again, just changing some little details from before but they still had to stay consistent with what they had written before. That is just something I have to give a huge amount of respect.

If you have the time, the energy, the patience to read this. I highly recommend you to do that. Seriously. You won't regret it and you will like the ending. I promise that. If not. Well. Come back and yell at me, if that's the case.

My geeky heart is in love. Just so in love. I don't even know whats the best part of this fic. Maybe the conversation they have? Wait. It has to be the online conversations. Seriously. Just have to.

Okay. I didn't have high hopes for this (tbh when do I ever?) but I was bored and I have pretty much scrolled through most of Merlin fics at this point (don't worry, I have a huge list of fics that I want to blog about). And my train of thought was pretty much "sounds different, is not that long, why the fuck no". And here we are, in love and I want to read this again.

I am not going to lie and say that there are things you can't guess and everything is awesomely written. There are some things that really bother me. But because this is fic and this is about people hanging out via internet we can let those little things slide. So bear in mind all that.

Besides the point. I love how these two interact. Like they just can read each other and understand each other. I like that in the show too. I also liked how the whole magic thing was replaced by the whole hacker thing. It made sense and it was pretty awesome. Also. Every mentioning of WoW and becoming super geek about it is always a huge plus for me. I love that game.

The only thing I didn't really get was the ending. Maybe I wanted something else or maybe it came too soon or something. I just want to read more of this. I really, really do. This was that good. But good fic is always a good fic, even with not so perfect ending. And the ending doesn't suck, more like I just wanted more for the ending. Or something along the lines. 

So, please. Go and read this. Send the author all the love you can via kudos and comments. And just go and read it. Please. This is totally worth it. ❤️

Random Fandom Week 11 [Merlin]

I started this blog post ages ago. I am not even sure when I read the first Merlin fic, but it was somewhere last autumn, I think so at least. The thing just was that I did not have time for fics or my blog or anything at all. So I ignored this and thought I would do it next week. So here we are, literally months later and I have this huge problem with picking six fics.

Anyways. I am not that huge fan of the tv show. It is just something that I use as background noise when doing puzzles. Yea. My attention span is pretty close to zero. But because I was bored and I knew that there are a lot of Merlin fics out there, I just had to try reading them. Boredom is a huge factor in my reasoning to do stuff. And I liked the fics. I really did. So now I just have one more fandom that I can get lost into. Okay. I know. I have to actually watch the show at some point, I can't just stop to the second season. But that is something future I can deal with.

So. About the fics. I wanted something different for this one. Or at least that was the idea with the first ones. But I may have lost the point somewhere because there were just so many fics where to choose from and I may have just randomly picked a couple of them. Maybe. But here we go. 5 + 1 Merlin fics where Merlin and Arthur are idiots together. Have fun!

Arthur just needed to know that he could take a good dick pic. He wasn't going to do anything with it, obviously. It was just an experiment, just a test he had to prove to himself that he could pass. Drunk Arthur had other ideas, though. Who knew there were people online willing to review other people's dick pics? And frankly, Arthur was never going to settle for anything less than an A+. 

I am not sure if this is crack or something else. At least I have never read anything like this before. And I loved every single second I was reading this. Like who wouldn't? Also. That sounds like a perfect idea for a boring Friday night at home.

I don't even remember what was the actual plot in there. But that is not so important. More important part is how everyone just loves Merlin. Everyone wants to protect Merlin (Arthur included). And that is just something so precius that it needs to be looked after and have it's own fic. Like this one.

On the morning of their Annual pre-Christmas Dinner, Merlin is shocked to find out that Gwen thinks his boyfriend, Arthur, isn't good enough. But after a glimpse into Merlin's quirky flat, Gwen realizes that she might not have the whole story. 

In Supernatural fandom there was an episode for the car and in Merlin fandom there is a fic for a apartment. For some reason this really fits Merlin, like there could actually be a house that is just so perfect for him (and Arthur) that the house itself came to life. Sounds magical and perfect for them. Until I find that, I will just promote and love this one. Okay. Even if I find that fic, I would still love and promote this, but point stays!

This whole, dating assholes and other awful people, thing fits Arthur for some reason. In the show, all his one episode length interests are with idiots and always magic related. So this whole idea that he can't find a proper partner is kind of perfect for him. And then Merlin saves the day, as usual.

Why I am having so much fun with these fics? Like every single fic just makes me smile and be happy? Why? How? What? I don't understand. Seriously. Even this had it sad moments but I am still smiling. Why. Seriously.

And for the + 1 part we need at least one soulmate fic. Because what fandom would really be a true fandom without soulmate fics?

Soulmates. The one thing I always like to read but I am never going to understand. Like, do serial killers and rapist have their soulmates and what is their destiny? What about paedophiles? Are their soulmates like 30 years younger or another paedophile? Or just what the fuck in general? I do not understand. But I like these fics none the less.
